Liquid specific gravity balance manufacturers on the external factors of liquid density measurement

Liquid specific gravity balance manufacturers analyze the external factors of liquid density measurement:
1. Temperature: when the temperature of organic compound liquid rises or falls, due to the relationship between thermal expansion and cold contraction, the volume of liquid will expand or shrink, and the density of liquid will also decrease or increase.
2. Pressure: when the pressure of organic compound liquid increases or decreases, the volume of liquid will also have a slight tendency to decrease or increase, but the range of change is much smaller than that caused by temperature change, so the change of liquid density caused by pressure is smaller than that caused by temperature.
3. The polarity:
Liquid molecules are divided into polar molecules and non-polar molecules.
There is only a very weak attraction between the molecules of a non-polar liquid, called the London dispersion force, but the attraction between the molecules of the poles, in addition to the dispersion force, there is also the interaction force between the * dipole or the * dipole and the inductive dipole, which keeps the molecules closer together.
Therefore, in general, the liquid density of polar molecules is larger than that of non-polar molecules.
The attraction between the molecules of polar liquids is strengthened by the presence of hydrogen bonds between the molecules, so the liquid density of such compounds is usually high.
4. Carbon chain length:
For the same series of non-polar liquids and the liquid with a very small dipole torch, because the number of atoms in the molecule increases, the attraction between molecules becomes larger, and the liquid density also increases.
For the polar liquid with large dipole torch, the increase of carbon chain reduces the density of the liquid. This is because the increase of carbon chain makes the dipole torch of the molecule smaller, and the attraction between molecules also decreases, so the density also decreases.
5. Whether the molecular shape is symmetric:
The more symmetrical the molecular shape of a compound, the denser the liquid.
This is the reason why the more symmetrical the molecules are, the closer the molecules are and the greater the attraction between them is.
The internal factors affecting liquid density are closely related to the chemical structure of liquid molecules.
Therefore, the chemical structure is a very important factor in the study of liquid density of organic compounds.
